Hello
Pleased to be here in this forum, i think the best one with spanish Forum for ours RX4...
I'm here, because i want to confirm several things :
I know that the propshaft and the rear differencial are made by Steyr Daimler Puch and i think that theses parts are used for mercedes. Do you know which models are concerned by these parts ? I have a mercedes star on the propshaft... And flector is the same like mercedes...
Have you a method to replace bearings for propshaft ? Do you have a topic about this ?
Thank you

Well there is an Bumper placed on the propshaft, do you checked if it's boken? The Bumper can make a lot of noise und vibrations.
Here you can look for it, if you need an Hind for the Bumper. Perhaps it is your Problem ...

For my noise problem, i removed the propshaft and i still have noise between 90 and 110kms... Very strange this noise, it's not a metalic noise, it's like i have a problem with a wheel, but to eliminate the problem i replace my four wheels by anothers, but i still have the noise ??? So i think i have a problem with a bearing gearbox or with the differencial but it's hard to find the origin of this noise... Maybe you have an idea ?

After removing the propshaft the noise is more?
Do you find Oil outside the Gearbox?? Some Gearboxes from the Renault Scenic lost a feew Oil and makes some Nois.
What du you think, Is the Noin in Front or Rear from the RX?
I don't know where you can buy the bearings für the propshaft. I think, wenn you like to change the bearings, you had to change the complete propshaft.

After removing the propshaft the noise is the same... I don't find oil outside the gearbox and i verify regulary the level of the gearbox... I've changed the oil of the differencial and also no oil outside the rear differencial... In the car, i hear the noise coming from the front, that's why i think about the gearbox but not really sure... Because if a gearbox bearing has a problem, i think the noise could be more important after 110 kms ? And with the noise there is small vibrations...

is the noise in curves the same?
BTW when i read this thread at the scenic-forum ( sorry its german only )
http://www.scenic-forum.de/scenic/viewt ... =70&t=3942 i imagen that the problem is the right proptshaft in front of yout RX. There is an bearing at the right front propshaft. It coult be the Problem.

Yes in curves, the noise is the same. I thought also to a wheel bearing but normaly the noise of wheel bearing be more important with the speed and it change with curves...

Yes but it's not strong vibrations, very very small vibrations... When the road is not good and not plane we can't hear the noise and vibrations, only on highway... Do you think the differencial can do this noise ?

Hallo,
wenn es die Kardanwelle mit Differential, die Räder und Radlager nicht sind, dann würde ich einmal das Motorlager oben rechts und den "Knochen" untem am Getriebe kontollieren.

So when we can exclude the prpshaft and the differencial ans the bearings, i thing the same like Mario, check the engine bracket on Top ( in Drivingdirection right ). When its old, its goin to be harder and makes some noise. And Check the engine bracket under the engine, it looks like a bone
Do you need pictures to ident the engine bracket?

hmm, also Drehmomentstütze und Motorlager sind schon neu.
Ich könnte mir jetzt nur noch das Differential oder die rechte Antiebswelle mit dem Zwischenlager vorstellen ....
